Restored in 1994, I purchased 07P in 1995 with 16 hours since bare tube restoration.
At that time It had 5207 hours TT, 869 SMOH and a new prop OH. The interior was recovered and/or new, and it had all new glass. I added a King KX125 - and kept the Escort III as a backup Nav/Com. All gyros where overhauled or replaced with new. A electric turn coordinator replaced the vacuum turn & bank. A handheld Garmin 95XL GPS is also attached to the panel.
The vacuum pump, tubing and filter system were all replaced new. Replaced the magnetic compass and installed a (kind-of-portable) 4 place intercom. Replaced Altitude Encoder and reworked the instrument panel to support the radio and instrument configuration changes.
Under the supervision of a I.A. We did a top overhaul to the Lycoming O-290-D2 engine and found that "someone" had replaced a piston with the wrong one.
Although significant rework and overhaul have been required, It's a much better plane now than when I started. I've put allmost 400 hours on 07Papa since purchase.. No regrets.
